What does a system actually cost?
Our calculator shows the system we would recommend before you give us your name, and every quote is fixed and written. Batteries with solar typically land in the mid teens to mid twenties of thousands depending on size and switchboard, and we will publish our price ranges once our price book is final.
Who actually does the installation?
Accredited installation crews under contract to us, working to the engineer responsible's design, checked against it, and photographed for the compliance record. Hot water heat pumps are installed by a licensed plumber we contract. The design, the warranty and the accountability sit with Lightwell, in writing.
Are you accredited?
Our accreditations and licences are stated on this site exactly as they stand and each number prints in the footer as it issues. We will never claim a badge before the certificate is in hand, and you are welcome to verify every one.
What rebates can I get right now?
Federal battery discounts and small-scale certificates on solar, applied inside our written prices with the exact figures shown. Hot water is the exception for now. Some hot water rebates can only be claimed through an authorised retailer, and we are not authorised for them yet, so we do not apply them. If waiting would save you money, we will say so. Rebate values change on published dates, and we will tell you the real deadline that applies to your quote, never a fake one.
What happens after the install?
The Daylight Check on day fourteen, monitoring on every system, help enrolling in a VPP if one pays your hardware well, and a real person on the phone for the life of the system.
Do you do commercial work?
Yes, engineering-led and sized to the site, on both sides of the 100-kilowatt line. Start on the commercial page by sending twelve months of interval data and we will send back a written findings note.
Why did the calculator tell me to wait?
Because sometimes waiting is the right answer, and we would rather lose the sale than the review. Small bills or heavy daytime usage can make storage a poor buy today, and the page says so when it is true.
My installer disappeared. Can you look after a system you didn't install?
Yes. We run a paid health check on orphaned systems: monitoring restored where possible, compliance checked, and a written honest report on what is worth doing. No obligation follows it.
Do you install outside Melbourne?
Not yet. We work a defined set of Melbourne suburbs on purpose, so every job gets the same crews, the same engineering standard and the same fourteen-day check. When that changes, this answer will.
How long does an installation actually take?
Most single-system installs, solar or a battery retrofit, are done in a day, and we book a date and keep it. Whole-home work is staged across agreed dates in your written plan, and you will know the schedule before you pay a dollar.
Who do I call if something goes wrong after the install?
The team that installed it. Every system carries monitoring, so we usually see a fault before you do, and the number in your handover pack reaches a person responsible for your job.
How do payments work?
A deposit secures your installation slot, with the balance at the milestones written on your quote. One rule we hold absolutely: consumer deposits are never used as working capital. Your money waits for your hardware.
Is engineer-signed just marketing?
It is a precise claim and we define it in public. Home solar legally needs an accredited designer and a licensed electrician, not an engineer. We meet that standard, then add one of our own: a senior electrical engineer with fifteen years in energy signs the design itself: sizing, switchboard, exports, layout, against a written standard.
